How good are microfibre dry mops?

Our microfibre dry mops create a static charge, drawing in dust and loose particles, achieving maximum results for 'light cleaning' on floor surfaces. We always recommend dry mop floor surfaces first to reduce the damp mopping required. The dry mop should be used on floors in a figure of 8, ensuring that larger, loose particles get trapped against the face of the mop. Once the dry mop becomes fully soiled, it should be placed in the laundry bag and cleaned.

What are the benefits of microfibre dry mops

  • It creates a static charge when wiping, which holds dirt & loose particles until washed.
  • Soft material ideal for sensitive surfaces
  • Velcro fixing
  • Can be laundered over 500 times
  • Quick to dry
  • Lightweight
  • Slim, can fit under furniture

Which size best suits your needs

This depends on the surface area you will regularly be cleaning. For small houses or offices etc., we recommend the 32 x 15. For medium size areas, the 52 x 15, and for larger homes, you may require the 69 x 15 cm.

How to use

We have designed our mops for extreme ease of use. Our mop handles have a universal joint which attaches to our bases, and the bottom of the base has velcro strips which allow for easy mop head instalment. The mop heads are more significant than the base to allow good cleaning into the area where skirting meets flooring. Mopping should be carried out in a figure of 8 to ensure collected waste is on the leading edge of the mop.

How to care for microfibre dry mops

We recommend washing our mops at around 40 degrees Celsius. We make our mops of the highest quality fabrics, which allows washing up to 95 degrees Celsius. However, shrinkage will occur in the initial few washes, up to 5%. Also, our mops can be tumbled-dried, which can be beneficial as it opens the fibres. Finally, unlike most microfibre mops, our threads will not burn at high temperatures.

Please do not use any fabric softeners/conditions when washing our mop heads. Fabric softeners/conditions will leave a coating on fabrics, preventing the microfibres from working efficiently.

Lint-free microfibre mops

There's nothing worse than cleaning with a microfibre mop that leaves fabric lints everywhere. The cause of this is poor manufacturing. Microfibre fabric requires 'splitting', which breaks down the fibres allowing the material to become soft, delicate and absorbent. However, when the machinery & caustic soda splits the thread too much, the material will slowly break down and lint. We work with the highest graded machinery to ensure this does not happen with ours.

Caring Instructions

  • Use a non-biological detergent that does not contain optical brighteners, bleaching agents or enzymes
  • Fabric softeners/conditions can be used on our microfibre bath towels, but we do not recommend using them on any of our other products.
  • Cold or cool wash at a maximum of 40 deg C on a gentle cycle
  • Wash dark colours separately for the first few washes as some colour leaching can occur
  • With modern detergents there is no need to wash at high temperatures, and cool washing saves energy, and money. If washed at high temperatures, shrinkage will occur
  • Do not soak
  • Do not use bleach – it is harmful to the environment too
  • Line dry or tumble dry

Microfibre can be washed at high temperatures where necessary, such as in healthcare situations. When washed at high temperatures some shrinkage will occur
